A Memorable Visit from NSW Premier Chris Minns
Earlier this year, our Year 6 students took the initiative to write to Mr. David Mehan, inviting him to ask Premier Chris Minns to share his experiences as the leader of New South Wales. To their surprise and delight, Mr. Mehan responded positively, and this Monday, we had the honour of hosting some very special visitors.
We were thrilled to welcome NSW Premier Chris Minns, along with David Mehan (Member for The Entrance) and Liesl Tesch (Member for Gosford), to Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Primary School. Premier Minns spoke passionately about the vital role of a Premier and the workings of the government. Our School Director, Danny Casey, also joined the session, adding to the significance of the event.
The visit was an inspiring experience for our students! Kai, one of our Year 6 students, asked Premier Minns what he would change in NSW if he had the power. Both Premier Minns and Liesl Tesch emphasized the importance of reducing the domestic violence rate in NSW. They shared their plans to collaborate with our local Mariners to raise awareness and engage the community in tackling this critical issue.
Our Year 6 students were incredibly grateful for the opportunity to ask meaningful questions and gain a deeper understanding of leadership and governance. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Premier Minns, David Mehan, and Liesl Tesch for taking the time to engage with our future leaders!
A special thank you goes to Danny Casey for his dedication and continuous support. His visit to our classrooms and engagement with both students and staff were truly appreciated.
